Humans of TapMango: Kirstin
Meet Kirstin, one of TapMango’s Success Managers! She loves to spend her time outdoors, and binge-watching Schitt’s Creek! Find out what she loves about working at TapMango, how she spent her time during the pandemic, and what kind of shows she loves.
What is your position at TapMango? How has it evolved since you started?
I started as an Onboarding Specialist, working with our merchants in their beginning stages, getting them set up and trained on how to use the system. I am now about to join our Success Team as a Success Manager! I am so excited about the opportunity to continue to learn and grow with the company.
What are some aspects of your role that you really enjoy?
I really enjoy working with a wide variety of merchants! It’s been really cool learning about their different businesses and how they plan on using the system to serve their customers! I also love how we are constantly learning in this role. You are exposed to so many scenarios and have a lot of opportunities to problem solve and collaborate with colleagues.
Describe your WFH deck situation.
My desk is quite tiny so I keep it very clean! Aside from my equipment, I have a tiny plant, a candle, a coffee mug, and of course my notebook because I’m lost without it! My heated blanket is also always at arm’s reach!
What do you do in your spare time? Learn any new skills during quarantine?
I love spending time outside, whether I’m out for a walk or a run or sitting on a patio! I did not use my time in quarantine to learn anything new haha. Instead, I spent a lot of time doing things I enjoy, like baking goodies to deliver to my friends, going on long walks, Netflixing (of course), and deep cleaning everything in sight…
What is something your work colleagues don’t know about you?
I was in a Spice Girls lip-syncing competition that was televised on Much Music. I did not win…
What is one piece of advice you would tell 8-year-old you? (on career pursuit, life, laughter, and love)
I would love to tell myself not to care about what others think and to not be so hard on myself! Stay weird, be curious, and trust your gut! Oh – and travel as much and as often as you can!!
Top 3 binge-worthy shows, book series, or movies? (And Why?)
This one is hard and I could name so many shows… But I do have some go-to’s that I find myself watching over and over!
1. Bob’s Burgers! That show is so funny and light-hearted. Linda is my spirit animal.
2. Schitt’s Creek! Amazing show. I’ve binged it about 5 times and I still laugh and cry every time.
3. Disenchantment! Ok yes, I watch a lot of cartoons. This one is gooood and I rewatch it all the time. It’s funny and smart and takes place in a fantasy world so the show gets away with having really crazy characters and storylines. Bonus points for a strong female lead!
