Humans of TapMango: Carson

Meet Carson! Fitness instructor, travel enthusiast, and TapMango’s Growth Account Specialist / Success Manager! Find out what he loves about working at TapMango, all of the languages he’s picked up during the pandemic, and what kind of shows he’s been watching.

What is your position at TapMango? How has it evolved since you started?

I am currently a Growth Account Specialist / Success Manager at TapMango. I started my journey as an Onboarding Specialist helping our merchants get initially set up and trained with our system, and now I work with our merchants on the long-term success of their business with TapMango.

What are some aspects of your role that you really enjoy?

I absolutely love getting to do strategy calls with my merchants and coming up with new ways to use the program to try and best serve the unique customer base that they have. These brainstorming sessions always introduce new ideas and helping my merchants implement these into the system always brings me great joy!

Describe your WFH deck situation?

I’ve got a simple setup with a great view right out a window so I have lots of natural light. I’ve also got my ‘Under Desk Elliptical’ so I can be pedalling away all day from the comfort of my desk, and finally, I’m just surrounded by a bunch of plants keeping it fresh and natural around me.

What do you do in your spare time? Learn any new skills during quarantine?

Aside from being a fitness instructor a couple of times a week, I have also started learning a couple of languages more recently (Sign Language & Spanish). Otherwise, I enjoy relaxing by either watching Netflix or being on my patio soaking up the sun.

What is something your work colleagues don’t know about you?

In Highschool, I was in a Saxophone Quartet (I played Baritone Sax) and we competed at a national level and received gold.

What is one piece of advice you would tell 8 year old you? (on career pursuit, life, laughter and love)

Save your money for TRAVELLING! It can be easy to get caught up in having material things when you are growing up and that is a goal that I worked hard to achieve…but as I’ve gotten older I’ve realized that the life experiences you gain from travelling are priceless compared to having an expensive car, or nice clothes etc… I’ve learned the lesson but definitely wish I came to that conclusion earlier in life.

Top 3 binge-worthy shows, book series, or movies? (And Why?)

A: The Office – This is a classic and elite series that will be funny no matter how many times you watch it B: Lost in Space (Show on Netflix) – I always enjoy a good space movie or tv show and Lost in Space just has a great storyline that is so easy to get wrapped up into
C: Somebody Feed Phil – Great show on Netflix! You get to see the most amazing and authentic foods from all around the world and it really gives you that itch to book a trip somewhere unique and experience the culture through their food!
