Humans of TapMango: Amanda

Humans of TapMango: Amanda

Meet Amanda! Lover of dogs, health and fitness enthusiast, and TapMango’s Online Ordering Implementation Specialist! Find out what she loves about working at TapMango, all of the skills she’s picked up during the pandemic, and what kind of shows she’s been watching.

What is your position at TapMango? How has it evolved since you started?

I am currently an Online Ordering Implementation Specialist at TapMango. I started as an Onboarding Specialist, moved on to become a Success Manager, and shortly after decided that my interest was more involved with online ordering/custom app implementation!

What are some aspects of your role that you really enjoy?

I love when merchants see our custom branded app and put through a mobile order for the first time. It’s a huge and exciting step for businesses!

Describe your WFH deck situation.

My setup is pretty simple – I do have a hydraulic desk though which gives me the option to stand while working!

What do you do in your spare time? Learn any new skills during quarantine?

In my spare time, I am usually out with my dog, at the gym, or with my friends! During quarantine, I actually boarded dogs! I had free time and wanted a furry companion to spoil. This was what caused me to get my own dog once I started working from home full time!

What is something your work colleagues don’t know about you?

In my high school/early years of university, I worked in a dental office as a receptionist/hygienist assistant. I thought I wanted to be a dentist!

What is one piece of advice you would tell 8-year-old you? (on career pursuit, life, laughter, and love)

A piece of advice I’d give is to live in the moment – that’s the best way to enjoy life in my opinion! Everything has its way of working out the way it is meant to. No dwelling on the past, or feeling anxious about the future.

Top 3 binge-worthy shows, book series, or movies? (And Why?)
  1. How I Met Your Mother – an all-time classic but never fails to disappoint. No matter how many times I re-watch
  2. Breaking Bad – this show is a one-time watch but I wish I could go back to the first time! Its by far the best series with the perfect ending.
  3. Prison Break – also kind of a one-time watch, but it’s one you stay up late to get “one more episode” in
