Humans of TapMango: Chelsea

Meet Chelsea! One of TapMango’s amazing onboarding specialists! See what she loves about her role, find out what her birds like to do during her shift, as well as check out the awesome shows she recommends!

What is your position at TapMango? How has it evolved since you started?

I’m an onboarding specialist! The role itself has stayed pretty consistent since I started, but my responsibilities have grown! I’ve taken on more projects, worked with larger merchants and helped out the team throughout my time at TapMango. I’m excited to see what’s next!

What are some aspects of your role that you really enjoy?

I love training and that’s probably my favourite thing about the role. I’ve always loved being able to teach people new things, and seeing merchants understand the program and feel prepared to use it makes me very happy! I’ve really enjoyed being able to suggest ideas to merchants as well, and it makes me very glad to see them take the ideas and run with them.

Describe your WFH deck situation.

I have a standing desk that I definitely do not use enough and way too many figures cluttering my desk! I have my two cockatiels who also like to participate in my work and tend to use my chair and desk as perches!

If you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

At this point, probably Japanese Curry!

What is something your work colleagues don’t know about you?

I love tarot and oracle cards! I have 4 decks currently and am always tempted to get more!

What is one piece of advice you would tell 8-year-old you? (on career pursuit, life, laughter, and love)

Trust yourself and pursue the things that truly bring you joy and fill your cup. Things will be okay, just keep pushing forward!

Top 3 binge-worthy shows, book series, or movies? (And Why?)

Star Trek: It’s a classic and I personally love comparing the older series to the newer ones currently airing! The original series is a ton of fun to watch if you don’t take it too seriously.

Bob’s Burgers: I’m a huge animation fan, and Bob’s Burgers is one of those animated shows full of heart. It’s a comforting show to watch, and it’s very easy to have in the background.

The Scream franchise: I love horror, and my favourite classic horror series is the Scream franchise. The original Scream was so clever, and I find that it’s a must watch for anyone interested in horror.
