Humans of TapMango: Bisma

Humans of TapMango: Bisma

Meet Bisma, one of TapMango’s amazing customer support representatives! She loves tea, and loves hiking! Find out what she loves about working at TapMango, how she spent her time during the pandemic, and what kind of shows she loves.

What is your position at TapMango? How has it evolved since you started?

My position at TapMango is a Customer Support Representative. When I first started my position at TapMango, I was doing a lot of the normal support tasks, like taking calls or answering chats. Now, since I am a lot more confident in my role and my knowledge, I’ve started taking on other technical tasks that I feel like I wasn’t as confident in when I first started my role.

What are some aspects of your role that you really enjoy?

I really enjoy the fact that I get to work with such a lovely team! I believe your colleagues can make or break your work life for you. Having colleagues who you can easily talk to and ask for advice is definitely a perk for me. Another aspect of my role that I really enjoy is that I love that I get to talk to merchants who handle different businesses. Not only am I learning about these different businesses and seeing how TapMango has changed their business for the better, but I also get to learn their perspectives. Understanding other businesses’ perspectives help me improve that client relationship. For myself, it makes it much easier to talk to merchants and understand how I can help them.

Describe your WFH deck situation.

I’m usually a pretty organized person, so I try to keep my WFH desk as organized as possible – of course, sometimes it gets a little messy. But for most days, I have my TapMango laptop, my monitor, a Bath and Body Works Firewood candle (I LOVE candles), some sticky notes, my personal support water bottle, and usually I’ve got a mug full of hot ginger lemon tea.

What do you do in your spare time? Learn any new skills during quarantine?

In my spare time, I love working out and spending my time at the gym. If I’m not at the gym, then I’m usually either looking for new recipes to cook up or watching a movie/ show on Netflix. Going on hikes and walks is definitely something new that I’ve started doing since quarantine. I was never really a hiking type person, until everything was shut down. I’ve loved it ever since and would highly recommend everyone to grab your sneakers and a water bottle and go on a hike!

What is something your work colleagues don’t know about you?

Something my colleagues don’t know about me is that I used to have super colorful hair back when I was in high school. It was a phase and I had fun with it. No regrets!

What is one piece of advice you would tell 8-year-old you? (on career pursuit, life, laughter, and love)

I would tell my younger self to be kinder to yourself. It’s okay to want to improve but you also have to give yourself credit where it’s due. Be kind to yourself by doing things you like, speak to yourself in a kind tone, look at your emotions in a way that doesn’t exaggerate them nor does it suppress them, and notice what you are grateful for. And if you have off days, that’s okay too! You just gotta pick yourself back up!

Top 3 binge-worthy shows, book series, or movies? (And Why?)

I’d recommend Prison Break, Money Heist, and Bridgerton. I’d recommend them because they’re SO binge-able in my opinion. You can start episode 1 on Monday and end the next season in the next 3 days.
