The challenge

Building Loyalty at Scale, Fast

Lucky Goat Coffee is an independent specialty coffee chain with deep roots in the communities it serves, from Tallahassee to Jacksonville to Frisco. With 17 locations across three states, the challenge was standing up a loyalty program that could work in every market, drive consistent repeat visits, and capture the brand love that already existed in stores.

The goal was speed without sacrificing depth: a program that would feel native to Lucky Goat from week one, integrate with its Clover point of sale, and turn first-time visitors into regulars.

The solution

Full Activation from Day One

Launching TapMango in November 2024, Lucky Goat activated a product-based rewards program with six reward tiers, location-targeted campaigns, an automated Google review program, an online ordering integration, and a branded mobile app, all in a single rollout. Signing up is effortless: customers enter a phone number at checkout or download the app, and within weeks the program was part of the daily routine for its regulars.

Simple to join, automatic at the register, built to scale.

Inside the program

Rewards That Add up, and Reviews That Compound

The rewards do real work. Lucky Goat built a six-tier ladder where customers earn points on every purchase and redeem them for free beverages, from a simple drip coffee all the way up to a gallon of cold brew. The mid-tier reward is the workhorse: accessible enough to drive frequent redemptions, valuable enough to bring in customers who spend more than the reward covers.

Reputation compounds the effect. An automated Google review program generates a steady stream of new reviews across every location, nearly 7,000 to date, which matters even more as Lucky Goat opens a new store roughly once a month. Location-targeted campaigns, from chain-wide announcements to hyper-local store events, keep the program relevant in every market, and an automated birthday reward redeems at around four times the typical benchmark.

In their words

Carlyn MarinaccioCarlyn MarinaccioDigital Marketing Coordinator, Lucky Goat Coffee
On the goal of the program
“We were definitely hoping to create repeat customers and really reward the customers who come in over and over again. It’s a way to thank our customers for coming back to us.”
On why adoption was so fast
“The sign-up process is super simple. Customers just put in their phone number when they’re checking out, or a barista tells them to download the app. As a specialty coffee company, people come back for that specialty coffee, and TapMango helps us understand exactly who our repeat customer is and what they’re buying.”
On whether it’s worth it
“The loyalty program is very straightforward. It’s easy for customers to log on and update their information, and easy for us to track orders and check-ins and send targeted campaigns. It’s been a very streamlined process.”

Lucky Goat shows how fast loyalty can scale: make signing up effortless, build rewards around the products that customers already love, and let automated reviews compound your reputation in every market. Give regulars a reason to come back, and the loyalty builds itself.
