Humans of TapMango: Erika

Humans of TapMango: Erika

Meet Erika, one of TapMango’s Success Managers! She has a passion for cooking and loves to stay in shape! Find out what she loves about working at TapMango, how she spent her time during the pandemic, and what kind of shows she loves.

What is your position at TapMango? How has it evolved since you started?

I’m currently a Success Manager at TapMango. I started as an Onboarding Specialist where I was able to learn a lot about the system and was able to move over to being a Success Manager.

What are some aspects of your role that you really enjoy?

One of my favourite things easily has to be when Merchants are using the program and they see what it’s truly capable of. Hearing the excitement in their voices of knowing what they are able to start doing to aid in their business is an amazing feeling.

Describe your WFH deck situation.

It’s a very simple desk setup, although I am across from a window that lets in a lot of natural light. There is always a cup of coffee on it and I always have to have a clean desk otherwise I can’t function.

What do you do in your spare time? Learn any new skills during quarantine?

Fitness will forever be a huge passion of mine. Outside of that, I spend a good amount of time in the kitchen. I love making new recipes, even old ones that I enjoy a lot. There’s something special about seeing people enjoy the food that you made.

What is something your work colleagues don’t know about you?

I actually got ordained and can technically be a wedding officiant – have I done it, no. Will I? Probably not, but it’s a funny story.

What is one piece of advice you would tell 8-year-old you? (on career pursuit, life, laughter, and love)

Don’t take life too seriously – focusing on things that are out of your control will take a toll. Focus only on the things that you can control and see how different you feel in your everyday life. Live your life to the fullest, laugh and smile as much as you can.

Top 3 binge-worthy shows, book series, or movies? (And Why?)
  1. Severance – It’s an apple original and it’s amazing. It has the same vibe as Black Mirror which is right up my alley in the mind-twisting genre.

  2. Dynasty – I don’t know just something about the drama and story line is so good. I watched 4 seasons in two weeks.

  3. Game of Thrones – I watched this so long ago but now that House of the Dragon has come out, I’m watching Game of Thrones all over again and remembering why I fell in love with that series.
